Goal
Losing a breast changes your life...getting it back is LIFE CHANGING!
Nearly 22,000 women a year lose one or both of their breasts to breast cancer and are uninsured and unable to attain immediate reconstruction. Many have been living years without one or both breasts.
Most uninsured women having a mastectomy cannot afford breast reconstruction. Typically a series of three surgeries are needed and may take up to a year to complete. It is NOT cosmetic surgery. Costs can range from $25,000-$50,000 at a cash pay rate. On average, My Hope Chest receives between four and six new patient applications a week. Most referrals come from the largest breast cancer organizations, but they do not send a penny of their millions of dollars along with the patient who needs help.
My Hope Chest is the ONLY national non-profit organization funding breast reconstruction for uninsured and under-insured breast cancer survivors. Their services pick up where the other breast cancer organizations leave off, providing the “final step" 'in breast cancer treatment. Learn more about the founder, survivor Alisa.
This October, B.O.S.S. Food Co. has engaged with My Hope Chest to raise money for this specific cause within the breast cancer charitable giving month. Our goal is to help at least one woman get breast reconstruction. For every sale made on our website or through our wholesale customers for the month of October, we will donate $2 to My Hope Chest. Alternatively, you can simply donate $2 using this form and we will forward your donation (minus credit card processing fees) to My Hope Chest. If you can give more, please do. Help us by sharing this campaign with your network! Thank you!
All contributions are 100% tax deductible.
“I realized how my own self-esteem, confidence and self worth as a woman returned when I could look in the mirror and see my whole “physical” being once again. It was my healing, a restoration in body mind and spirit.” - Karen, Ft. Myers Florida
