In Tanzania, many children from low-income families start school already left behind.
While their peers attend daycare and arrive ready to learn, they begin at age 6 with no basic knowledge, no confidence, and no equal chance.
Twiga Vision Tanzania, a local NGO based in Arusha, works to support vulnerable children and families through education, empowerment, and community care.
One of our key partners, Unique Choice Daycare Center (UCDC), provides a safe and loving environment for 30 young children every day.
Here, every child, no matter their background, receives:
🍲 Two healthy meals a day
📚 Early learning in English from caring teachers
🛡 A safe, nurturing environment where they can grow
For years, community support has kept UCDC’s doors open. But after the loss of a key sponsor, the daycare is struggling to survive. Families cannot afford the full fees, and without urgent help, children risk losing this safe start in life.
💧 Our Current Emergency: No Water
Right now, our biggest struggle is something as basic as water.
For weeks, our daycare has had no running water.
Today, the water no longer flows at the center, we urgently need 500,000 Tanzanian shillings (approx. 174 € / $203]) to restore it and continue feeding and caring for our 30 children every day.
Without water, we cannot cook, clean, or maintain hygiene; all essential to keeping our children safe and healthy.
We tried to manage quietly without asking for help, but this is now our last option to keep the daycare open and ensure the children continue receiving the love and care they deserve.
