Give Back Program

Rural Guatemala gives the world cacao, coffee, craft and knowledge. Very little of that value comes back to the women, children and land behind it. Give Back to the Source exists to send some of it home.

We are a women-led Guatemalan NGO. With Indigenous and rural communities, we build what they ask for: a school in Chirremox, Alta Verapaz, a bamboo workshop for women in Chicacao, Suchitepéquez, and soon La Casa del Cacao in San Marcos La Laguna. We build with bamboo, stone, clay and local hands, and every project starts with listening.

Why monthly matters

Monthly gifts are what let us plan. They let us return to a community when we said we would, replace tools after a break-in, or pay a local builder on time. When something goes wrong, monthly gifts are often what we have to work with.

What you can expect from us

• Four times a year, short field notes with photos and numbers from each site.
• Honest reporting, including what doesn’t work.
• A small, women-led team that stays close to the ground.
