WSOHM Introduces Trauma Spa
Women Survivors of Homicide Movement (WSOHM), a 501 C3 non-profit organization, is the parent of Trauma Spa (T-Spa), a unique 8-week pilot project beginning in Fall 2019 that seeks to serve individuals who live in urban neighborhoods and have been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of the murder of an immediate family member. The pilot program will link this vulnerable population to holistic mental health services as well as collecting anonymous data on the effectiveness and success of this unique project. Throughout the pilot program, we hope to serve approximately 100 guests of 75 women and 25 men of color.
Our goals are to provide these individuals with techniques to reduce their PTSD symptoms, to help them achieve more productive lifestyles, to aid in advocating for those still dealing with the unsolved murders of their loved ones, and finally to break the stigma around mental health in low-income communities.

Dear Mary, I just watched your video on Buzzfeed. Absolutely heartbreaking that such a good man was lost in this way & 24 years have passed without justice. I pray for him & your family. Also, wanted to say I really admire your strength & acceptance following your diagnosis. I’m also having chemo & you really helped me today. Bless you. From London, UK x
