In April, we celebrated Chancey’s 10th birthday.
But July 10, 2016, was the day he was placed in my arms for the very first time.
Today is his Gotcha Day.
Today, we celebrate 10 years of walking through life together.
There have been so many challenges. So many difficult days. But there have been far more beautiful days than hard ones, and I will never take a single one of them for granted.
I truly believe that after last year’s cancer diagnosis, neither Chance nor I would be here today without the incredible support of the Live Like Roo Foundation.
Earlier this year, Chance beat cancer.
Now, just 13 days from today, on July 23, he’ll undergo biopsies under general anesthesia to determine whether we’re facing another cancer journey, almost exactly one year after we began the first one.
In honor of our fight, and in honor of this very special day, Chancey is making a donation to the Live Like Roo Foundation in the hope that another dog or cat parent facing a frightening biopsy can have at least one burden lifted from their shoulders: the cost of that procedure.
To everyone at Live Like Roo…thank you for caring for so many families during some of the hardest moments of our lives.

The best dog mom lost a beautiful soul this week. Kristen, Wyatt knew when he was here how much you loved him …. And he will forever know both in your heart and across the rainbow bridge that you will continue to love him with your entire soul forever . I was first introduced to the LLR Foundation through a foster dog who had hemangiosarcoma. Later, my own dog was diagnosed with mast cell and lung cancer. She passed away in January, possibly from brain cancer.
