Gemini Accident Repair Group AutoRaise Rally 2022

As many of you may know, I work for Gemini Accident Repair Centres, and one of my several responsibilities, is our various “platinum” quality Apprenticeship Programmes. Attracting and training the future automotive workforce is essential to keep pace with the rapid technological changes within vehicles and vehicle accident repairs.

AutoRaise is a registered UK Charity that is dedicated to marketing and encouraging young people to enter Apprenticeships within the Motor Industry. It is this organisation that is staging the “Real Rally 2022” to raise funds, to assist with supporting the industry with young people wishing to carve an automotive career for their future. 

Following my successful participation in the fund-raising AutoRaise Real Rally in 2019, I am once again participating in the 2022 Real Rally in one of my old Renault classic cars.

This year the car will be the 58-year-old Renault R8-1100 and is currently being prepared by Gemini Apprentices at the Gemini Rotherham Accident Repair Centre. They will making sure the classic car will take on the challenge of the 372 miles circuit over the key two days, plus initially getting to the starting point in Stratford-upon-Avon, and returning home from Cardiff on the last day. This is not a race; it is a challenge! The journey will cover a variety of road, scenery, towns, cities within Wales and several English counties.

All Gemini vehicles will be representing various countries and the Apprentices will be changing their appearances accordingly! The Renault R8 will be transformed to represent Morocco, and what it will look like, rests with the Rotherham Gemini team! Watch this space!

I will keep updating progress with the car and fundraising as we build up towards the start day by posting in various media or personally to sponsors donating to my fundraising.
