This year as we travel on Tour 2024: The Tragedy of Macbeth, we are raising money to raise our artists salaries as we strive to find a way to create equity and sustainability for artists to join our tours and visit your towns. Just as we do not think that location, education, or economic position should hinder any audience from enjoying our timeless tales, we similarly do not think that differences in circumstance should hinder artists from joining us as we create, rehearse, and travel to bring you quality entertainment.
Our goal is to be able to offer an equitable stipend to each performer. A stipend for taking almost two months of time away from their homes and away from other work. A stipend for traveling far more miles than most of us travel in a year, for memorizing lines, for assisting as we visit classrooms and libraries in addition to performing in parks; for helping create costumes and props, loading and unloading, flyering, posting, and taking on multiple personalities all for your pleasure.
In addition to paying stipends we need to raise our usual funds for travel, production, bookmarks, and breakfasts!
We are raising money incrementally - bite sized goals. This current campaign will run from now until the end of our tour as we travel throughout Illinois, and into Missouri, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
If you are able to help with a donation, it means that we can keep visiting towns with small populations, schools with little or no arts budgets, neighborhoods where the community is hungry for art, but also hungry for food. This year it also means we will be able to add technology to our shows when they need to be remote, and add features that will allow for streaming to audience members who miss us when we are on the road. We want everyone to feast, on Shakespeare and soup. Please donate today so that we can all feast together.
