Support the deaf people in Gaza

The World Federation of the Deaf strives to support all deaf communities during disasters, humanitarian conflicts, and crises. The WFD is an organisation that applies a human rights-based approach to humanitarian crises, focusing on both saving lives and protecting dignity. Immediate focus goes towards protecting life, security, and physical well-being.

Disasters and crises disproportionately impact deaf communities because of the lack of access to information, care and aid, and early warnings through their national sign languages. As the humanitarian situation in Gaza escalates on a daily basis, the WFD is greatly concerned about the lives, integrity and security of deaf people in Gaza. The WFD does have an ongoing fundraising campaign to raise funds for deaf communities all over the world who face disasters but the Gaza situation is of immediate and urgent concern.

Therefore, the WFD has set up a fundraising campaign to assist the deaf communities in Gaza. The funds will be sent directly to the deaf people in need through the Palestinian Association of the Deaf with a specific commitment that ensures the needs of deaf communities are addressed.
