JOIN US IN HONORING COACH DARIN FONTENETTE

For over 20 years, Coach Darin Fontenette has poured his heart into uplifting African American boys in the Gardere community. He built football, basketball, and later soccer teams, adapting as the community grew, and giving boys ages 5 to 13 a place to learn, grow, and thrive.

Despite challenges—including the dismissive remark, “You can’t do anything with those boys from Gardere”—Coach Darin, guided by faith, proved the doubters wrong. His senior team’s 2015 championship victory stands as a testament to his unwavering dedication and vision.
