Support the Plan, Grow the Profession!

This year marks a historic milestone for professional local government: the 40th Anniversary of the ICMA Fund for Professional Management. Since its founding in 1986, the Fund has served as the bedrock for the council-manager form of government, ensuring that ethical, professional leadership remains the standard in our communities.

The "40 for 40" Movement: We invite every member to participate in this milestone through two high impact giving tracks:  

The Recurring Gift: Join our ambitious push for 5,000 members to establish a recurring donation starting at $40 per month. This steady foundation provides the long-term resources needed to defend and develop the profession. 

The Anniversary Gift: Make a symbolic, one-time gift to honor 40 years of progress.  While $40 commemorates our history, gifts at every level—from our Supporter Circle to our 1914 Founders—are vital to reaching our mission goals.

Coming in March: Stay tuned for the official launch of the State Association Challenge (Get ready to track your state’s progress on our upcoming live leaderboard - and our live Giving Thermometer! )
