Danny - Bushcraft fundraiser for Mission Ukraine
Me
My name is Danny, I used to be a builder but I have been volunteering full time, in and for Ukraine since March 2022, my life has changed irrevocably, I have met the most helpful, selfless and incredible people from all over the globe, I have been the recipient of kindness and generosity that I didn’t believe still existed and I have been lucky enough to put smiles on some people’s faces.
Vehicles
With no lasting peace in sight and Ukraine continuing to suffer every day from Russia's invasion, we work tirelessly to remind Ukrainians that they are not alone in their fight for survival.
Many people in Ukraine have to use bushcraft skills just to live day to day, they have no heating, electricity or water because the Russians are targeting the infrastructure. The water in their toilets freezes because it is -20C outside, they use camping stoves inside their kitchens and everyone learns First Aid because the threat of injuries from missile and drone strikes is ever present.
So we're fundraising to purchase a 4x4 which will be converted into a non-combat vehicle, to evacuate injured soldiers from the frontlines so they can be quickly and safely taken to the stabilisation points (STAB) and then on to hospital.
We will drive the 1250 miles from London to Lviv in Ukraine (via France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Poland). Then continue our journey by driving the vehicle on from Lviv to Mykolaiv (a further 550 miles) in order for the vehicles to be converted into off-road ambulances. Then the vehicles are taken to the frontline units by other volunteers (another 600 miles or more)
‘Mission Ukraine' is a joint operation by British and Ukrainian volunteers making a difference by delivering vital medical equipment and vehicles to Ukrainian units. Since the beginning of the war this project has sourced and converted over 140 4x4s into medevac off-road.
