Goal
For more than 100 years, Service Civil International (SCI) has brought people together across borders through volunteering, building a culture of peace based on solidarity, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
Today, SCI is a global movement of 40 branches and groups and more than 90 partner organisations across every continent. Together, we organise international volunteering projects that create lasting impact in local communities while connecting people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Twice a year, representatives from across our network gather to shape SCI's future. These meetings are where experiences are shared, new collaborations begin, and important decisions are made collectively.
In 2026, these key events will be:
- Exchange Platform Meeting (EPM) – October, Czech Republic: a space for learning, programme exchange, collaboration, and strengthening our international network
- International Committee Meeting (ICM) – December, Italy: SCI's highest decision-making body, where members collectively decide the organisation's priorities, policies, and future direction
Unfortunately, not everyone has the same opportunity to participate.
Travel costs, visa expenses, and financial barriers often prevent activists and volunteers from outside the European Union from joining these important gatherings. As a result, discussions risk becoming disproportionately Eurocentric, while valuable perspectives from other regions remain underrepresented.
Your donation can help change that.
By supporting this campaign, you will help cover travel and participation costs for volunteers and activists from outside the EU, making SCI's decision-making spaces more diverse, inclusive, and representative of the global movement we aspire to be.
Every contribution helps ensure that the future of SCI is shaped by the voices of people from every region, not only those who can afford to be there.
Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive movement for peace - so that decisions reflect the diversity of our global network.
