Fueling Vanguard - Sponsor A Mile

For anyone who doesn’t really know me, my mom marched Santa Clara Vanguard in the 80’s, so I grew up, every year until I was 10, in the stands at DCI West eagerly waiting for SCV to march onto the field. In 2017, I got to perform alongside my mom in the 50th Anniversary Alumni Corps. It was a life changing experience to be on the field with such a supportive and loving group of people. Then in 2022 I had the opportunity to perform with the Vanguard Cadets. Even with no colorguard experience, and scarce dance training, Vanguard took a chance on me, and I made a new family. Getting to march at SCV this coming summer is a dream come true, there is no place like Santa Clara. Drum corps is really hard work but it is also an amazing activity that allows young people to come together to perfect a show and travel across the country competing for 2 1/2 months. It is a remarkable activity, this community of young performers, their staff and volunteers traveling by bus and being fed 4 meals a day. The high cost of food and fuel make it challenging for drum corps to maintain their budgets. We’d like to ask for your support.  Any amount you could pledge toward food or fuel would be greatly appreciated. I hope to see you at a show!
