Fueling Vanguard - Sponsor A Mile

Vanguard is the organization that matters the most to me—I truly would not be the person I am today without the experiences and relationships I have forged through SCV. This group is one of a kind, and I can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on! That being said, running a drum corps is an expensive task, and the portion I cover through my tuition is just a small fraction of the total cost it takes for us to go on the road. That’s why your support is so important—it takes a lot of money to cover fuel, housing, and food for the members, myself included. Please consider sponsoring mileage or a meal, it really does mean so much to us as members. 

To give some added context to the scale of this activity, and to make sure you understand how important and appreciated your donation is, let me give a brief rundown of our summer:

Vanguard will start the season by spending about a month learning and perfecting our show in Moscow, Idaho, where we‘ll rehearse for about 11 hours each day. From there we’ll begin our tour, taking us to 21 shows across 11 states, with the performances broken up by more long rehearsal days. While on tour, we’re constantly on the move and living part time on our busses, and spending the remaining time on gym floors around the country. Each day we eat 4 full meals to keep our energy up (we burn A LOT of calories) and cover hundreds of miles. This intense process is a big part of what makes drum corps so meaningful, and really is the reason we need so much support.
