Hi there and Welcome! I am super excited to have this wonderful opportunity to work alongside an awesome group of medical professionals in going to the Philippines to provide medical care. I want to invite you to be part of this amazing journey.
Our goal is to provide medical care to at least 2000 indigent patients in Bohol, Philippines, most of whom have no other access to healthcare. We will serve these patients through five mobile health clinics and are expanding our services to a charity hospital where we will perform critical surgeries and acute care. With your help and support, I am confident we can exceed this goal!
Here are just a couple examples of what we will be providing.
-Cataract Surgeries: Many fishermen and farmers are struggling to see due to cataracts. Just $90 can help restore their sight and let them get back to work!
-Cleft Palate Surgeries: small kids with cleft palates deserve a chance to thrive. A young child born with a cleft palate, bravely facing challenges in eating, speaking, and connecting with peers. Your $180 donation can help them grow up confident and thrive in these areas.
- With a generous gift of $360, you can provide life-saving surgeries for conditions such as gallstones, hernias, or uterine fibroids, alleviating suffering for parents and their families.
Consider the stories of individuals in these communities: a fisherman who has endured years of hardship and is now losing his sight to cataracts no longer able to work; a mother battling severe anemia due to prolonged uterine bleeding. These narratives are not just abstract; they reflect the heart-wrenching realities for countless individuals in underserved areas of the Philippines.
Many of these individuals' hopes hinge on procedures that are often viewed as routine. Yet, access to healthcare in rural regions is severely limited due to widespread poverty. Many families depend on subsistence farming or fishing, making healthcare a luxury they cannot afford. Tragically, preventable conditions frequently lead to unnecessary suffering and loss of life.
The HAND-Philippines Medical Mission 2025 Fund Campain reflects our commitment to delivering essential healthcare to underserved communities. This initiative plays a crucial role by directly funding patient care costs and logistics necessary to operate five mobile clinics, each aligned with a Rural Health Unit (RHU) in our targeted areas. In addition, we offer vital hospital-based services, elective major surgeries, and urgent patient care.
It is important to note that we volunteers cover our own travel expenses and the non-direct patient care costs associated with this mission trip. Your generous donations will directly fund surgeries, medications, laboratory tests, and other essential healthcare services. Furthermore, since the directors and officers receive no compensation, and we maintain an administrative fee of only 6%—one of the lowest in the industry—you can be confident that your contributions will have a significant impact on those in need.
This fundraiser stems from our grassroots origins, responding to the urgent medical needs of communities affected by natural disasters. As we strive to expand our reach and enhance our impact, we remain devoted to organic growth, ensuring every contribution is directed toward lifesaving medical assistance.
