Friends of Anne Jones

My name is Anne Jones and I’m running for Calvert County Board of Education.  I was the librarian at Windy Hill Middle School for 20 years, retiring in 2024.  Calvert County has great schools and great staff.  And at the same time, our schools have challenges that need to be addressed.  Challenges like teacher recruitment and retention, technology and AI, student absenteeism and funding concerns.  We need leaders who will listen to educators and find solutions that better support them in the classroom, which will support student success. I am passionate about public education and what makes it so great.  I am motivated by obstacles that educators face and focused on ways to eliminate those obstacles. And I am excited to support our students in reaching their potential in and out of the classroom.  I am running for Board of Education to represent teachers and school staff, students and families by supporting and promoting public schools we can be proud of.  And I would appreciate your support!
