Help Keep Survivors in School in Kenya

Friends for Justice (FFJ) is a Kenyan partner organization to Many Hopes, supporting survivors of sexual abuse through trauma-informed care, education sponsorships, and long-term rehabilitation. Education is a critical part of helping survivors rebuild stable, independent lives.

An Urgent Education Crisis

This year, Kenya’s government abruptly doubled public university fees, creating a $100,000 emergency funding gap for survivors already enrolled. There is an urgent need to help pay the fees of the 73 FFJ students currently enrolled in college.

Rescue ended their exploitation. Education is what turns survival into freedom, and freedom into change.

Why This Matters Now

FFJ and Many Hopes exist to drive survivor-led change - not just rescue, but long-term transformation.

These survivors are studying law, healthcare, education, and social work — fields that prevent abuse, confront traffickers, and protect the next generation.

Now, the only thing standing in the way is funding.

Why this matters to me

This project is deeply personal.

I’ve spent time in Kenya with the FFJ team — listening to their stories and witnessing the extraordinary work being done with extremely limited resources.

As an artist who has spent a lifetime using music and art to uplift, I felt called to contribute in the way I know best.

My song “I Am a Queen” was used  as a tool for empowerment and a music video was created in collaboration - offering these young women a safe space to reclaim their voices, their worth, and their dreams.

I’m honored to now support their mission further and help raise the funds urgently needed.
