Friends of the Shady Spring Library Fund

Since its inception in 1997, FOSSL, or Friends of Shady Spring Library, has sponsored programs such as book sales, children’s story hours, the summer reading project and gardening workshops. A bequest from Ethel B. Trail, the generosity of Shady Spring Library patrons, and a gift for a Walker Foundation match have funded this endowment. Mrs. Trail was a well known Raleigh County educator who died in 1999. FOSSL will use the income from this fund to further enhance library services.
