Goal
Freedom to Grow is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping people with troubled pasts learn to have a happy and healthy future. Our plan is to have a farm in the North Georgia mountains where 20 to 30 people per year will spend 9 months living and working on-site. Almost all of the food that we will eat will be grown and raised on the farm. There will be mentoring and coaching to help point out the lessons to be learned through farming and to help develop a plan for when they leave the program. There will be counseling to help heal from wounds in the past and to learn Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We will offer hobbies such as music lessons, Spanish lessons, arts and crafts, and hiking. This is a non-faith based program but we support and encourage each person to practice their spirituality and/or religion freely.
The plan is to have this opened in 2022. The first thing that we need to make this happen is to have land. We are looking for 15 to 25 acres in North Georgia. Brett Bramble, our founder, is going to walk from Key West to Maine starting in January 2018 to raise funds to purchase land and start construction. Bramble started this company in honor of his sister who died of a drug overdose in March of 2014. Since then, Bramble has dedicated his life to helping others through the love that his sister has left him with. Our goal is to raise $100,000 by the end of 2018.
