The response to the first print run has been incredible, and I'm deeply grateful for all of you who have embraced the story and connected with its message. THE BOOK



I am very passionate about my craft. Doing this for almost 20 years now, once as part of media, later as a freelancer, I have come to realization, for me is not enough to capture images of social issues and try to give voice with my photography to the voiceless. I am capturing history that one day my unborn kids, your kids, will hopefully look at and perhaps learn from the past, Just as we do looking now in the archives of scenes in the past stories. I become more clear on my vision about this especially after documenting the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa at the beginning of 2022. 

Documenting the Freedom movement ever since the pandemic, I saw how many of my colleagues just turned their back on the real news in case of a career in so-called media outlets. I left the media I was part of many years ago, even without pandemic on our shores back then I was feeling that photographing handshakes of politics is not why I once wanted to become a photojournalist. Photos have the power to tell stories, convey emotions, and freeze moments in time. They are a powerful medium for documenting the world around us, and when combined with artistic vision and journalistic integrity, they can become truly impactful.

After spending 21 days in Ottawa photographing the events on Parliament Hill I have created a Freedom Convoy Ottawa photography book as a keepsake of this historical event, for freedom loving Canadians and for people all over the world who supported the movement.

A big part of my work as an independent photographer is focused on social issues and human rights activism. For the past two years I have been documenting the freedom protests across Canada and I spent 21 days in Ottawa in early 2022 capturing the events on Parliament Hill from the beginning to the very end. This led to the creation of an impressive body of work, both photography and aerial footage, capturing the spirit and unity of Canadian people of different backgrounds standing up together for their rights and freedoms.


Through this photography book I would love to share my work with you as a tangible keepsake of this important event in Canadian history that you can keep in your home and remember forever. Your donation will also help support the work I do, as well as independent photojournalism at large.




FREEDOM CONVOY 2022 OTTAWA




In January 2022, Canadians held a historic human rights protest in downtown Ottawa, Canada, in front of the Parliament building. Canadian truckers organized the 2022 Freedom Convoy in response to federal vaccine mandates for truckers. The protest was later expanded to protest all COVID public health mandates that violate the Canadian Charter of Rights, fundamental human rights, and international law.


Hundreds of heavy-duty trucks, pickup trucks and other vehicles, converged in Ottawa to unite in a peaceful protest against government restrictions. Thousands of people from all across the country arrived at Parliament Hill to stand in solidarity with the Canadian truckers. Freedom Convoy 2022 became one of the largest protests in Canada’s history with men, women and children of all ages, races, and backgrounds coming together to stand up against unethical government actions and celebrate their freedom.

Seth Vane



My name is Seth. 

I am an independent freelance photographer based in Toronto, Canada. My passion for photography comes from documenting real life, whether it is an event, historic artifact, or a personal profile. The combination of the documentation of real life with the art of photography is what I always strive to achieve in my work.


Seth Vane is an award-winning freelance photojournalist and documentary photographer currently living and working in Toronto. His career in photojournalism started as a staff photographer in local news agency in his home country Bulgaria in 2006. By 2014 he created numerous photography and documentary projects across Europe, including Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Cyprus, and Italy.



In his photography, Vane combines the realistic and sometimes brutally honest point of view of the ordinary human situations. His photography challenges the indifference of the viewer by capturing the essence of human emotions, interactions, and lives. Vane doesn’t seek to glorify these essences and realities, but to commemorate the stories that are worth repeating.
