Goal

Help us be ready for every fox who needs us

Every year, hundreds of sick, injured and orphaned foxes arrive in our care, each needing something different from us.

An injured adult may need weeks of specialist food, medication and veterinary treatment. A fox suffering from mange may arrive weak and desperately in need of nutrition and care. And during orphan season, tiny cubs can arrive just days old, needing warmth, specialist formula and feeds around the clock.Their stories are different, but they all depend on the same thing:

The Fox Project being ready when they need us.

Our Fox Food Bank helps make that possible.

It provides a vital fund that we can draw upon throughout the busiest months of the year, helping us provide the food, formula, medication, equipment, warmth and everyday essentials needed to care for the foxes who depend on us.

Last year, you helped us raise an incredible £56,000 - making our 2026 Fox Food Bank Appeal the biggest fundraiser in The Fox Project's history.

That support was invaluable. It helped us care for foxes through the challenges of winter, the injuries and pressures of breeding season, and the enormous demands of orphan season.

But the cost of providing that care continues to rise. Food, veterinary supplies, medication, heating and other everyday essentials are all more expensive, while the number of foxes needing our help continues to put increasing pressure on our resources.

From January to August 2026 alone, we cared for 1,211 foxes, including 677 cubs - over 100 more foxes than during the same period last year.

That's why, this year, we need to raise £65,000 for our Fox Food Bank.

It's an ambitious target, but one that reflects the reality of what it now costs to provide sick, injured and orphaned foxes with the food, treatment and specialist care they need during the busiest months of our year.

With your help, we can be ready when they need us.

More than a food bank

Despite its name, the Fox Food Bank provides much more than meals.

It gives our team the flexibility to respond to the individual needs of the foxes in our care.

For a sick or injured adult, that could mean a high-nutrient diet to rebuild their strength alongside medication and veterinary treatment. For a tiny orphaned cub, it could mean specialist formula, an incubator keeping them warm, and feeds every few hours throughout the day and night.

As those cubs grow, their needs change rapidly. Milk becomes puppy food, meat and carefully balanced diets. They need supplements, medication, bedding and enrichment as they develop the strength and natural behaviours they'll eventually need to return to the wild.

With hundreds of patients passing through our care, those individual needs quickly add up.

But every meal, every treatment and every piece of equipment has the same ultimate purpose:

Giving a fox the chance to recover and return to the wild.

Help us fill the Fox Food Bank

We have set ourselves an ambitious target: £65,000 to help fund the care of the foxes who will need us over the next six months.

We don't yet know their names.

We don't know whether the next call will be about an injured adult, a sick youngster or an orphaned cub desperately calling for its mother.

But we do know they will come.

And when they do, your support can make sure we're ready.

Whatever you are able to give, you'll be helping put food in bowls, medicine in the hands of our veterinary team, warmth around our most vulnerable patients, and vital supplies where they're needed most.

Please help us make sure we have the food, medicine and vital supplies ready for every fox who will need us over the next six months.

We may not know their names yet. We don't know when the call will come, or what condition they'll be in.

But with your help, we'll be ready when they need us.
