Forte Prep's COVID Kindle Campaign (on behalf of Lisa Friscia)

During this unprecedented global crisis, Forte Prep's students, staff, and families find themselves in the epicenter of the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. Students' lives have been completely upended by the disruption of traditional learning, but our school has also worked incredibly hard to support our students during this time. To this end, we are shifting our fundraising priorities to provide technology solutions to ensure that students have access to a robust school library from home.   Every dollar raised from 4/27 on will help pay for Amazon Kindle devices that will help all of our students reach their annual goal of reading one million words.

Our mission hasn't changed; we work every day to create a world-class school in Queens cannot be accomplished without your help. Every dollar you donate goes directly to supporting the students who need us now more than ever. As we work through this time, we want to continue to bring the whole world to our students.

As a Forte Prep board member, we work to ensure that the school that we have been entrusted to govern exceeds the lofty expectations that we have for it. We are well on our way: our school outperformed the district, city, and state in its first year of operation in the English Language Arts and Math state exams in 2018. In April 2020, we were honored as a New York State Recognition School for our high academic performance over our first three years of operation.
