In 1995, the State of Florida began its cooperation with Wakayama Prefecture through the Sister-State Program. In 2020, the Florida-Wakayama Cultural Association, Inc. formed so that the relationship could be sustained. Our mission is to build on the friendship between Wakayama and Florida through artistic and cultural connections that will deepen the respect and trust between the two cultures for future generations.

How we accomplish our mission:
- Provide unique educational experiences with master artists from both Wakayama and Florida to build a deeper understanding of these unique cultures.
- Build knowledge and skill through exhibitions, arts performances (virtual, recorded, and live), and other arts education experiences;
- Promote arts and cultural events between Wakayama and Florida.
