Donation to FLSS School Horse Retirement Program
Our beloved retired horses spent many years serving in the Lord Stirling Stable lesson program, giving countless riders both young and old, the joy that can be found when seated in the saddle.
During this unprecedented time, like many other non-profits, the Friends of Lord Stirling Stable School Horse Retirement Program has been hit hard by the current prohibition of large gatherings. Our traditional fundraising events have been canceled for the rest of this year and the effect this has on our organization will be felt far into the future. Our expenses continue to mount as we care for the horses in the program.
It is a labor love for our volunteers to return the favor for their years of dedicated teaching by finding them new, loving, forever homes. Until a forever home is found the Friends of Lord Stirling Stables School Horse Retirement Program is there to provide for all expenses and costs associated with each horse we serve/for each horse in the program. Expenses include board, veterinary care, farrier, dentist, grooming supplies, tack, medications, and more.
Consider that it costs the FLSSSHRP at least $4500 per horse per year (not including emergency veterinary costs) in board, farrier, vaccination, dental, and deworming costs.
Won't you give back to the beloved horses who served in horseback riding lessons?
