Goal

The Friendship Fire Association is raising funds to conduct a cosmetic preservation of the DC Fire and EMS Department's 1905 American LaFrance 3rd Class Metropolitan 600 GPM Horse Drawn Steam Fire Engine - Manufacturer's Registration Number: 3076.

Originally assigned to Engine 18, this steamer was the last horse drawn apparatus in regular service and served as a front-line piece until 1921. It was used for the ceremonial Last Run of the Horses on June 15, 1925.

On June 15, 2025, the DC Fire and EMS Department and Friendship Fire Association intends to celebrate 100 years of the Last Run of the Horses with this preserved horse drawn fire engine.
