2022 Earthquake Damage Repair Campaign
Humboldt County experienced a large earthquake on December 20, 2022. It measured 6.4 on the Richter Scale and one of the largest shake values ever recorded for the area. After a safety inspection by the Humboldt County Planning Department, Fern Cottage received a yellow tag indicating structural damage to the the building. This historic house museum is still habitable however certain rooms of the museum are closed until repairs can be made. Both downstairs living rooms and Zipporah's Morning Sitting Room received the most damage. Contributions to this campaign will help raise the remaining funds needed to complete repairs.
