I wish someone earlier in my life had taught me how to be an effective activist. Now, that's my job! As a community organizer at Maine People's Alliance, I get to invite folks from all walks of life to sit around tables together and make audacious plans. Our members are meeting with elected leaders, telling their own stories powerfully to disrupt the status quo, and running for office. Here in Lewiston, we're standing in solidarity across lines of race and class and fighting for the rights of tenants, immigrants, and all marginalized people.
