Goal
Growing up in Southeast San Diego, we never really had any pro athletes to look up to. The guys who made it out never really came back to give kids, like me, encouragement. We looked up to people like my mother and father, who would give their last dime to the people they loved.
I remember hearing my parents, whether my mom or my dad, always say, “It is better to give them receive!” This quote has always resonated with me because not only did I want to give, but I want to be the first athlete from San Diego that would continue to give back to his community consistently. I wanted to be that leader to show the kids in our community that you don’t just need to play sports to be successful. You can do it by getting good grades, going to school, and being consistent in whatever phase of life you are in.
So, what’s “my why?” … “My why” is the black and brown kids who don’t have a father to look up to. “My why” is for the high school student who wants to go to college but doesn’t know what direction to go. “My why” is for the family that just needs help! I’m here for you! I’m here constantly and always in reach to bridge the gap to put your kid in the best position possible to succeed.
“Use your success, wealth, and influence to put them in the best position to realize their own dreams and find their true purpose.” —Kobe Bryant
