Today, 85% of AI research is concentrated in just four countries. The rest of the world, 77% of humanity, produces only 15% of the research, leaving 5 billion people with virtually no voice in shaping the technology that will define their economic and social future.
The consequences of this exclusion are real: healthcare algorithms that misdiagnose diverse populations, and AI systems that cannot speak the languages of 4 billion people.
The Fatima Institute exists to fix this pipeline.
Since starting with a single email in 2018, we have grown into a global movement to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. We match brilliant students from 38 underrepresented countries (from Nepal to Nigeria) with elite mentors from institutions like Stanford, Google, and MIT, providing them with the guidance and computational resources they need to compete globally.

Elite Outcomes: Our fellows achieve a 36% acceptance rate into top graduate programs like Harvard, Georgia Tech, and Princeton, more than 3x the global average.
Research that Matters: Fellows have published 12+ papers at top-tier conferences like NeurIPS and ACL, solving critical problems in low-resource languages, algorithmic fairness, and global health.
Global Scale: We have trained 100 Fellows selected from over 1,500 applicants, creating a lifelong community of global collaborators.
