Goal

We fully support the decision by both Everton and Liverpool Football Clubs and the Premier League to curtail all football in the weeks ahead.

This leaves us with a massive void that we need to fill, given that approximately 25% of food collected for North Liverpool Foodbank is collected through match day collections at Anfield and Goodison Park.

A contingency plan needs to be clear, concise and simple, so we are urging fans who have supported us so diligently over the past five years to consider making a financial donation direct to the North Liverpool Foodbank via this account, in lieu of their donations at matches.

This will enable us to ensure we meet demand for emergency food as best we can in the coming months.

Depending on the emerging situation, please keep an eye on our social media as we may well be asking for volunteers to meet demand in support of the most vulnerable in our communities.

Fans Supporting Foodbanks is a grassroots community initiative supporting the fight against hunger in our communities. All proceeds of our campaigns (both money and food) are processed by St. Andrew's Community Network, home of North Liverpool Foodbank (registered charity number 1105307) according to good fundraising practice and Charity Commission regulation.

Inspired by the go fund me initiative of a 'spoof' save the sun which was really for donations to foodbanks. Brilliant but the foodbank was down south. I was going to donate but I'll stick to my usual local instead. I don't think they'd mind.

This contribution is donated by me from my libel action against the Jewish Chronicle for the lies they printed against me and Riverside constituency in this journal. It was lies like these that helped Johnson become prime minister instead of Jeremy Corbyn. This is why there is an urgent need for food banks and why working class people are dying unnecessarily from this pandemic.
