Fans Supporting Foodbanks - 5 years
#hungerdoesntwearclubclolours
We'd like to say thank you for the magnificent generosity of football fans in supporting the most vulnerable in our communities over the past five years. From wheelie bin collections in the early days, to the van outside the grounds come rain or shine, and the incredible financial donations in response to Covid-19 - you have shown that hunger doesn't wear club colours.
We'd also like to thank both Everton FC and Liverpool FC - both clubs have been actively involved in our campaign, with much of it done behind the scenes.
We are still not able to resume our regular match-day collections and this leaves a big void, given that approximately 25% of food collected for North Liverpool Foodbank is collected through match day collections at Anfield and Goodison Park.
Every day we are hearing more stories of people struggling to put food on the table; and the impact of the pandemic will mean many more people will struggle in the coming months. Many of these people are who may have never before considered that they would need help.
We are once again asking fans who have supported us so diligently over the past five years to consider making a financial donation direct to the North Liverpool Foodbank via this campaign, in lieu of their donations at matches.
This will enable us to continue tackling hunger and food insecurity as best we can in the coming months as we discover what coming out of lock-down looks like.
Thank you for your support - it really is making a huge difference
