I am so honored to run Falmouth alongside nine neighbors from beautiful Medway, MA, raising funds and awareness for the Medway Village Food Pantry - an organization that provides critical resources and support to our community. 

I first became aware of the Medway Village Food Pantry in March 2020. We made our first donation to the pantry as the Covid-19 pandemic hit and, through conversations with amazing Exec Director Susan Dietrich, began to understand the needs in our community and how the pantry sought to both fill cupboards and people's cups as they experienced hardship. 

Medway is a very special community. Our family experienced tremendous loss both just before and just after we moved to Medway in May 2018. Though we were newcomers to town, our neighbors looked out for our family as if we had been life-long friends. We have also found community through the pantry as volunteers with me joining the Friday afternoon set-up crew and my dad - Grandpa Raff! - working the pantry most Saturday mornings. We feel a deep sense of gratitude for all that Medway has given to us, and an obligation to give back to this community in any way that we can. So we'll go on training runs, we will raise funds, we will educate our community on food security and the need for a robust pantry. We are honored to care for Medway in the way this town has cared for us! 

A bit about the outsized impact of the Medway Village Food Pantry... 

- 24,176 client visits in 2023, an increase of 43% over the year before

- In just the first two months of 2024, the pantry served 4,611 clients

- 100% volunteer-run organization
