Fall VIP Drive 2024

When I embarked on my first trip to Türkiye with IAC last year, I didn’t anticipate the life-changing impact the experience would have on my life. 

On my first day, we the volunteers, gathered to assemble food donation boxes for families in need. As we carefully packed each item, I reflected on the importance of what we were doing. Knowing that each box would provide a family with food for an entire month, I realized the significant impact of every donation, no matter the amount.

While delivering the boxes, a five-year-old girl ran up to me. I reached into my jacket pocket and handed her a piece of candy. Her face lit up with a smile I'll never forget. She took the candy, kissed it, and placed it against her forehead, expressing her heartfelt gratitude, and ran back to her tent. 

Moments later, she returned with an even larger piece of candy, kissed it, put it against her heart and offered it to me. Her selfless act of kindness was deeply humbling and moving. I knew, at that moment, I would be back. God willing.
