Shawn got his start with the union in 1994 as an electrician for Chrysler at Kokomo Casting Plant, eventually becoming the first UAW President directly elected by the membership. Since his swearing in, Shawn has led our union  to many victories: from securing the most lucrative Big Three contracts in decades, to ending tiers at Daimler Truck, to winning a historic first contact at Volkwagen in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Shawn knows that there is more to win for every member and in every sector of our union.
