Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add Donorbox to my Wix website?
It’s incredibly simple! You can easily embed a Donorbox donation form or button directly into your Wix site using an HTML embed code. Just create your campaign in Donorbox, copy the provided embed code, and paste it into an HTML element in your Wix website editor. You don't need any coding experience to get started.
Does Donorbox work with the free version of Wix?
Yes! Unlike the native Wix donation app (which requires the Core plan to process online payments), you can embed a Donorbox form on any Wix site, even if you are on a free Wix plan.
Does Wix charge a fee for donations?
No. Wix charges zero platform fees for donations, but standard payment processing fees apply. These vary depending on the payment gateway you choose, but typically fall around 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. You can choose to display a “Cover Fees” toggle on your form, allowing donors to absorb these payment processing fees into their final total at checkout.
Can I accept recurring gifts on a standard Wix plan?
Yes, with limitations. You will need to have at least a Core plan to accept donations on Wix. Once this is secured, you can choose between three basic recurring giving options: weekly, monthly, or annually.
Do I need a paid Wix plan to accept donations?
Yes, you need to have at least the Core plan to accept donations on your Wix site. This costs $29/month. Wix’s free and Light plans offer only very basic web hosting features, and don’t include e-commerce features like accepting payments.
