Led by the Good Rev. N.M. Langston, this make-believe church revival is sheer, joyful jubilance. While not actually religious in any way and welcoming to everyone, this loving send-up of a church service combines exquisite art, music, film, and poetry. While the church may have been invented from thin air, the community, the gratitude, the singing of “hymns,” the candles, the togetherness, and the soulful feels are very much real.
Profits from this revival will be donated to the West Seattle Food Bank. Buying a ticket at a higher price will help us raise funds for kids’ weekend meal kits for hard-up families in our neighborhood.
Featuring...
Israel Nebeker is the founder, lead singer and songwriter for the beloved band Blind Pilot. Among other places, Nebeker's music has been featured at Bonnarroo, Sasquatch, Lollapalooza, and on the Late Show with David Letterman and KEXP. Having sold out local venues such as the Neptune and Tractor Tavern, Israel now joins SUNDAY SERVICE in the intimate warmth of Kenyon Hall. “Israel Nebeker has a voice that radiates authenticity: Not only is his tone utterly convincing, but he also has a way of relating to listeners' lives in ways even more experienced singers can't muster." - NPR
