Step into the mythic world of the sirens and discover what happens when we listen to the voices that have been calling to us.
Inspired by her poetry collection Sirenland, poet and author Jennifer Barone will guide participants through a visual journey into the lesser-known history of the sirens of the Bay of Naples. Through photographs from her travels, ancient artifacts, archaeological discoveries, and themes from Sirenland. Taking place just after Giorno dei Morti, Italy’s tradition of honoring and remembering the dead, we’ll explore death, transcendence, sensuality, longing, transformation, and protection through generative writing prompts designed to awaken your imagination and invite you into your own creative territory.
Open to writers of all genres. No previous writing experience is necessary. Bring your preferred writing tools.
Come listen for the call of the siren—and follow it wherever your writing takes you.
