Listening to Words, Listening to Silence

Listening to Words, Listening to Silence is part of BION.NYC’s The Craft of Everyday Psychoanalysis, a series of presentations and workshops exploring the practice of psychoanalytic listening.

In clinical work, there are moments when familiar forms of interpretation can reach their limits, particularly when working with patients whose internal experience may feel fragmented or difficult to put into words. This program will explore Bionian and Lacanian approaches to listening and how they can offer another way of thinking about these clinical encounters.

Masha Yaglom, Ph.D., LCSW, M.S. will begin with a presentation on the clinical need for training in Bionian and Lacanian listening, followed by an experiential workshop led by Olga Pugachevsky, Ph.D.
