2026 People Make the Place

Join your friends and neighbors to share stories, celebrate history, and recognize continued commitment to our Little 5 Points community at People Make the Place! The evening will include improv from Dad's Garage, as well as light food and drinks. 

 For 2026 we'll be highlighting the importance of health & wellness to the L5P identity as we honor the following individuals:
 
 Little 5 Legacy Award:
 - Wanique Shabazz, Sevananda 
Through his leadership at Sevananda - Atlanta's first cooperative grocery store - Wanique has helped advance healthy food access, support local farmers and businesses, and preserve one of Little 5 Points' most enduring community institutions. 
 
 Uplift L5P Award:
 - Darlene Schultz & Steve McCoy, Georgia Works
Georgia Works was the first community partner for the Little 5 Points Alliance as we tackled issues around homelessness in the district. Steve McCoy has led the employment program in L5P since 2018, and Darlene Schultz has been CEO of Georgia Works since 2020

People Make the Place is our largest annual fundraiser, and money raised goes to support the L5P Alliance's efforts around Mobility & Placemaking, Public Safety & Quality of Life, and Arts & Culture.
