2026 Artist in Residence Opening Reception
Experience Corey Watanabe’s 2026 Artist Residency project, Gardens of Resonance with the Eliot School community on Friday, August 21 from 6 to 8 PM! This project explores how the environment shapes our identity, experiences, and artistic voice, just as we shape it in return. This celebration of Corey and the Teen Bridge Artist’s work will include a panel-style artist talk, music, food, and time to have one-on-one discussions with the artists.
The exhibition will include personal projects by Corey and the Teen Bridge Artists, including “Tree Stories,” representations of their personal “Gardens of Resonance,” as well as a collaborative, large-scale “Resonance Tapestry.” This multimedia project weaves together cyanotypes, botanical prints, and shibori made with natural dyes created by the Teen Bridge Artists and youth from The Arnold Arboretum, The Food Project, and City Sprouts, who participated in community workshops led by Corey and the Teen Bridge Artists.
The Eliot School Artist in Residence Program engages a Boston-based artist each year to work closely with a group of passionate, artistic teens from our Teen Bridge Program to produce a body of public art with thoughtful community engagement at its core. This program would not be possible without the support of community members like you!
