Based in New Jersey, You Are More Than has a commitment to serving survivors nationally. Since opening our doors in 2020, YAMT has uplifted 773 survivors across 35 states, with 21% of the community representing survivors from the Bay Area.
Through our wellness program, we have provided free survivor-centered, trauma-focused individual, family, couples, and group counseling services; peer mentorship; and increased survivor access to mental health care through grants for therapy co-pays, psychiatric evaluations, and alternative forms of treatment such as Reiki, bodywork therapy, and acupuncture.
YAMT’s Career and Education Development program supports our members in reinvesting in their own entrepreneurial, professional, and educational journeys through one-on-one support and guidance, assistance with resource gathering, small-group courses, and skill-building webinars to help members reach their long-term goals. Our outcomes over the last 6 years are transformative. As an agency, we have made an impact by providing:
2,000 wellness sessions (Individual, Couples, and Group counseling services)
Empowering 57 survivor-led small businesses through capacity building, mentorship, and financial support.
Awarded 50 scholarships for survivors and sex workers nationally to pursue education ventures within trade school, certification programs, and 2-4 year college programs.
Trained over 4296 community providers on culturally affirming care and services for marginalized survivors.
Disbursed $187,000 in flexible funding dollars back into the survivor community through our emergency fund, therapy co-pay reimbursement fund, and career and education program.
You can help us raise $30,000 for survivors and ensure they receive continued long-term aftercare support.
