Parrish Blue Concert Night - Davey Davis and the Cabal Breakers
An evening of original music inspired by the art and atmosphere of Maxfield Parrish will take place at the historic Plainfield Village Town Hall on Saturday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Parrish Blue Concert Night will feature the Cabal Breakers with special guest songwriter Davey Davis of Windsor, Vermont. Davey will be performing his original song “Maxfield Parrish Blue.” Davey Davis’s music is a blend of storytelling folk, Americana, and regional themes, often paired with his own visual art, making his work both musically and visually engaging. The song Maxfield Parrish Blue was inspired by his mother, Betty Gibson Davis, who grew up on Westgate Road in Plainfield. At one point Betty worked for Maxfield Parrish, sharing memories of Parrish, Plainfield, and his art with her family.
Members of the Cabal Breakers include Plainfield’s Pooh Sprague along with local musical artists, Ted Mortimor, Sandy Alexander, Tim Augustinowicz, Jim Pitman, and Davey Davis.
The concert is being presented as a benefit for the preservation of the historic Maxfield Parrish Stage Set housed in the Plainfield Village Town Hall, one of the region’s unique cultural treasures connected to the Cornish Art Colony era.
Guests will also enjoy Parrish-inspired refreshments in shades of blue as part of the evening’s festivities.
