đź“… Thursday, May 21
đź•“ 4:30–6:30 PM
📍 GrepBeat HQ, Durham
🍷 Drinks and light appetizers will be served
🎟️ Limited seating

As part of the new speaker series, "GrepBeat Downstairs," GrepBeat is partnering with the Harvard Club of the Triangle to host an engaging conversation featuring three Harvard alumni who competed at the highest levels—from Ivy League record-setters to Olympic athletes—and went on to build companies, lead organizations, and invest in the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Join us for a thoughtful and energizing discussion on how the mindset, discipline, and resilience of elite athletes translate into leadership, entrepreneurship, and impact.

Together, we'll explore:

đź’Ş Performing under pressure
🏆 The transition from athlete to leader
🤝 How discipline, resilience, and teamwork show up in business
đź’ˇ Lessons that apply to all of us

Whether you’re an athlete, entrepreneur, investor, or simply curious about what drives high performance, you’ll leave with insights you can apply immediately.

Featured Speakers

Tyler Rullman
A former captain of Harvard men’s basketball, Tyler remains ranked third all-time in scoring — ahead of Jeremy Lin — and was known as the go-to leader on the court. The Harvard Crimson called him “the Man, the big enchilada, the go-to guy. Period.” After playing professionally in Europe, Tyler went on to become a serial tech entrepreneur and exited founder.

Sean Murphy
Sean competed at the highest levels of swimming, setting national records as a member of the Canadian national team and advancing to the finals at the Seoul Olympics. He also won three NCAA championships — individual and team — with Stanford Swimming and Diving. After performing on the world stage, Sean built a career as a serial tech entrepreneur.

Tim McLoughlin
A former Harvard ice hockey team member, Tim founded a hockey training company straight out of Harvard before moving into venture capital. He is now Managing Partner at Cofounders Capital, where he supports the next generation of entrepreneurs across the region.
