Mapping Incidents for Accountability: A Practical Introduction

Workshop Description
This online workshop will provide a practical introduction to incident mapping for accountability work. We'll cover data and organizational fundamentals, including the types of data and information needed, how to effectively structure information, and the importance of data verification. The session then introduces visual mapping techniques, with a focus on strategic scoping such as determining relevant parties, prioritizing incidents, setting appropriate timeframes, and focusing on broader conflict zones or sites of particular interest. Finally, using Google Earth, there will be interactive real-world examples.

The goal is to equip participants with a foundational understanding of how to transform disjointed information into a clear, coherent picture that can support accountability and advocacy efforts.

Please keep in mind that this session will be recorded.
