FIRE on the Water

The FIRE Foundation of Northwest Iowa believes every child is a gift from God - and that every child deserves a place in our Catholic schools. Our mission is to ensure students of all abilities are welcomed, supported, and able to learn, grow, and thrive in faith-filled environments. Thanks to the generosity of families, parishes, and community partners across the Diocese of Sioux City, FIRE continues to make a meaningful impact. This year, we are awarding $80,000 in grants to Catholic schools - including more than $17,000 to Storm Lake St. Mary’s - to expand inclusive education through staffing, training, and classroom resources. Since the 2022 – 2023 school year, FIRE has invested $356,000 in 18 of our Catholic schools serving 690 students and providing professional training to 259 faculty and staff members to strengthen inclusion, support educators, and empower students across our diocese.

Join us in Storm Lake for FIRE on the Water at the Cobb Tavern in the Cobblestone Ballroom on Tuesday, May 19, from 4:30 – 6:30 PM with a short program to begin at 5:30 PM. Sponsored by Central Bank, this casual, come-and-go event will feature complimentary beverages and pizza. There is no cost to attend, and guests are welcome to invite others who may be interested in supporting inclusive Catholic education.

Please RSVP to help us plan accordingly and come celebrate the growing impact of FIRE in our community.
