Holding the Line: Local Power, Federal Pressure, and the Fight for Trans Rights

Join the Trans Journalists Association and COYOTE Media Collective on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at the SF LGBT Center for Holding the Line: Local Power, Federal Pressure, and the Fight for Trans Rights.

As federal anti-trans policy escalates, San Francisco sits at the center of resistance — in its courtrooms, its community organizations, its art, and its streets. This evening brings together four people with frontline insight into that fight:

  • Zendaya Blossom, National Organizing Director of TGIJP
  • David Chiu, San Francisco City Attorney
  • Honey Mahogany, Director of SF's Office of Transgender Initiatives
  • Per Sia, artist, educator, and SF Drag Laureate

Each guest will be interviewed individually by trans journalists who bring lived experience, deep expertise, and a commitment to asking the questions that matter. Expect critical, incisive, and intersectional conversations about law, organizing, policy, culture, and what it actually takes to hold the line.

This event is free with RSVP. Tax-deductible donations support trans journalist honoraria, event spaces, and the careers of trans and gender expansive journalists.
