Rising from the formidable Seattle funk/soul scene, Cecil Moses & the SGs bring their own NW twist to original music inspired by the classic sounds of Funk, R&B, Rock, and Soul. Operating as an eight legged, tight, funky beast, Olli Klomp on drums, Marc Hager on keys, Colin Higgins on guitar, and Bob Heinemann and bass make up the SGs.

A diverse crop of influences can be heard in the sound of Cecil Moses & the SGs, from Funk legends such as the Meters, to funky jazzers like Grant Green and Herbie Hancock, to the classic rock fire of Jeff Beck and Jerry Garcia.

Sustainable Music NW

Our mission is to foster community connections through accessible, all-ages live music. We partner directly with local residents and neighborhood groups to organize events that are free and open to everyone. We provide professional musicians, who are paid a fair, union-scale wage, and we work together as partners to bring the event to life. We provide a liaison to assist with setup and takedown, offer our own branding and graphics for marketing, and help promote the event on our website and social media outlets.

We believe the presence of live music should be a regular occurrence and a major driving force for maintaining healthy connections between neighbors. Our initiative provides professional, adaptable musicians who can set the perfect tone for any gathering—whether it's a calm backdrop for quiet conversation or something that encourages a spontaneous dance party. We are a flexible organization that comes to where the community already gathers, from lively brewpubs and block parties to cozy apartment lobbies and vibrant community gardens. Our goal is to make great live music a natural part of any space, helping neighbors connect year-round.
