A Taste of Japan at the Kamome Festival 2026
Join us and 21 delegates from our Sister City, Rikuzentakata, for an unforgettable Japanese-inspired culinary experience, part of the annual Kamome Festival.
The night will begin with beer, wine, and sake complemented with tasty appetizers followed by Japanese cuisine tasting and desserts.
Peruse a Japanese-themed art show/exhibit in the foyer featuring local and regional artists, organized by Del Norte County's Art & Cultural Advocacy Organization (DNACA). Guests will enjoy a silent auction benefiting the Del Norte High School Japan Club. The evening’s entertainment will include a Junior World Champion Shamisen Artist and cultural dancing; both promising to make this a truly memorable celebration of Japanese culture and community.

5:30 (Doors Open) - 6:30 PM
Beer/Sake/Oyster tasting with silent auction and art exhibit. Guests will get to try the Kamome Ale from Seaquake Brewery, Oregon craft sake from Sake One, and fresh Humboldt Bay Oysters with Ponzu sauce prepared by Schmidt's House of Jambalaya. We will also be serving wine.
Silent auction, benefiting the Del Norte High School Japan Club, begins at 5:30 PM and continues until 8:15 PM.
Art show with pieces for sale in the foyer until 8:15 PM.
6:30 - 7:30 PM
Enjoy Japanese-inspired small bites with locally sourced ingredients.
7:30 - 8:30 PM
Guest speakers and a Shamisen musical performance and cultural dance performance ends this incredible evening supporting local students and the Kamome Foundation.
