Join us for an engaging exploration into the fascinating world of natural medicine and biological defense.
During this 45-minute presentation, we’ll dive into the history and science of plant-based remedies, modern medicine, and the surprising ways nature protects itself. From healing herbs to powerful toxins, discover how scientists study plants and animals to develop life-saving treatments and better understand the world around us.
Following the presentation, stay for a special 30-minute Newt Meet & Greet. Get an up-close look at one of our live amphibian ambassadors and learn how animals like newts use chemical defenses for survival. YSI instructors will guide this experience and answer questions while sharing insights about amphibian adaptations, safety, and conservation.
This program is perfect for curious minds of all ages who want to explore how nature can be both healing and powerful.
This event will be held at the Youth Science Institute Nature Center in Vasona Park.
