Join Dr. Esther Smith, DPT, Cert. MDT, for a hands-on workshop exploring how healthy soil, real food, and thoughtful fueling support both everyday wellness and long days in the mountains.
Anyone who has spent a full day outside knows that fueling is rarely perfect. When food or hydration misses the mark, energy drops, focus fades, and even the strongest days can unravel. For climbers, mountaineers, ultra-runners, and anyone heading out for big adventures, what and how you eat directly affects endurance, mental clarity, and your ability to keep moving when plans change.
In this workshop, Esther will share an approachable framework for fueling that supports sustained energy and long-term health. Rather than relying on heavily processed snacks, the focus is on real, nourishing foods that digest well, travel well, and actually support the body over many hours of movement. This is a practical way of thinking about fuel that works for adventure days while also building longevity in the activities we love.
At its core, this conversation begins with the land. When we care for soil using chemical-free, regenerative practices, we grow food that is more nutrient-dense and better able to support human health. How we prepare and eat that food is just as important as how it is grown.
The workshop will cover the basics of nutrition and digestion and include an interactive hot snacks lab, grounding these ideas in simple, real-food examples you can use both at home and on the trail.
This workshop is for anyone curious about the connection between farming, food, and fueling a life lived outside.
